The 15th International Rotary Youth Camp Djurs, Denmark

 Exploring Denmark

Theme: Culture, sea, sun and friendship

It is a great pleasure for us to invite 25 young European youth - in the age from 18 to 22 - to visit Denmark and join the "Camp Djurs 2014" in the period:

2 to 16 August 2014.

The five inviting Danish Rotary neighbouring Clubs: Grenaa, Grenaa GoMorn, Grenaa-Djurs, Roende and Rosenholm , all in the Rotary District 1440, are situated in a particularly beautiful nature of Jutland east of Aarhus, “The world’s smallest big city”.

Most days will incorporate home stays in local Rotary homes giving an insight to the standard of living in Denmark.

Some nights you will spend in tents or shelters, where you will need your sleeping bag, sleeping mat and towels etc.

The last two nights you will be together at a Youth Hostel.

All the camp members are asked to take part in cooking, cleaning etc.

Hosts at the camp will include English speaking Danish youth leaders at the participants’ own age.

Programme

We are still preparing the best programme ever.

The result will be updated regularly.

The main goals of the camp:

To experience the life on Djursland, the ancient culture in the region, the possibilities of tourism and making new friends.

In both weeks there will be excursions to places of interest.

When returning home the young guests should have obtained a good deal of knowledge about Denmark and what has been done to protect the environment in this country.

The clubs and the camp-hosts are looking forward to meeting all of you young people. We are sure to offer you two exciting weeks and a pleasant stay!

Sending our best regards

The Camp Djurs Committee
