It is a great pleasure for us to invite 20 young
Europeans - age from 18 to 22, boys and girls - to visit Denmark and
join the "Camp Djurs 2005" during the summer in the period:
2
to 16 August 2008.
The five inviting Danish Rotary neighbouring
Clubs: Ebeltoft, Grenaa, Grenaa Djurs, Rosenholm and Rønde, all in Rotary
District 1440, are situated in a particularly beautiful nature of
Jutland east of Aarhus, “The world’s smallest big city”.
Most days will incorporate home stays at local
Rotary homes giving an insight to the standard of living in Denmark.
For five nights you will need your sleeping bag,
sleeping mat and towels
etc.
The last two nights will be at the Fuglsøcentret in
Mols.
All the camp members are asked to take part in cooking,
cleaning etc.
Hosts at the camp
will include Danish
Youth Leaders
(English speaking
boys or girls) at the participants’ age.
The purposes of the Camp are as follows:
-
to bring together young people from various
countries and cultures,
-
to help young people to understand each other ‑
and different cultures ‑ better,
-
to create lasting friendships across
geographical and cultural borders,
-
to help develop a better international
understanding, tolerance and a wish for peaceful
co‑existence for the young generation,
-
to create a general understanding of the theme
of the camp: “Environment and Nature”,
-
to give the young people knowledge about Danish
culture and way of life.

In
both weeks there will be excursions to places of interest for
example zoological park, sightseeing / shopping in Aarhus and stay
the night
in the longest wooden ship in the world, but also more fun like canoe
tour and amusement park will be included.
When returning home the young guests should have
obtained a good deal of knowledge about Denmark and what has been
done to protect the environment in this country.
The clubs and the camp-hosts are looking forward
to meeting all of you young people. We are sure to offer you two
exciting weeks and a pleasant stay!
Sending our best regards
Claus
